Evidence, presented the way a solicitor would want it

This service is new and has no law firm case to show yet, so what follows is the evidence we do have: measured outcomes from two businesses in another sector, where the method was the same. Each figure has its source, its period and its caveat on the same line. Where the outcome would not transfer to a firm, we say so. When the first firm's figures exist, they appear here with the same discipline, and only with the firm's consent.

The measurements

Eight figures, two businesses, one method

The first four are from a one-week fix of an existing site. The last four are from a site and profile built from nothing, measured over the first sixty days. Both are trade businesses, which matters for the map and reviews figures and matters less for speed, duplication and indexing.

What transfers to a firm

Speed, structure and indexing behave the same in every sector

A page-builder site that takes eleven seconds to become usable on a telephone loses the client whether they are buying a remap or instructing a conveyancer. Area pages that are 72% identical to each other are filtered by Google regardless of the trade. Pages that were never indexed do not rank for anyone. Those three fixes produce the same effect on a firm's site, and they are the first things the audit looks at.

The map-pack and review figures transfer in principle and not in scale. A firm has an office, so the profile is a storefront one and usually starts from more than one review; the competition in a town for “solicitors” is older and better established than for a specialist trade. We would expect the profile fixes to register in the same few weeks, and the climb to the top three to take longer.

Caveats, in full

The parts an advertisement would leave out

  • Percentages from a standing start flatter: seven clicks to forty-two is a real change and a small number.
  • The competitive search for the second business sits at position eleven with no clicks yet; that is the next six months of work, not a claim.
  • The map-pack leader there has 235 reviews to this business's eleven; reviews, not the website, are now the limit.
  • Speed and duplication figures were measured by us after our own deployment; anyone can repeat them with the same free tools, and we would rather they did.
  • Neither business is a law firm, and we have not claimed otherwise anywhere on this site.

The monthly figures for a firm

What the partners see, and where it comes from

Absent by design

  • Testimonials without a name, a firm and a date
  • Percentages without the two numbers behind them
  • Ranking screenshots from a tool set to another country
  • Logos of firms that were never clients
  • A counter of clients served that climbs on its own

The method behind the figures is on the SEO page.
